Blackjack is basically a game of chance but for some players, blackjack is a game of wits and skill. The basic objective when playing blackjack is to have a hand that is greater than the dealer’s hand. It is essential that you build a hand worth 21 but should not exceed that value because you will definitely get a “bust”.

 

If you have a hand that is higher than the dealer’s hand, then you will automatically win the game. However, if your hand and the dealer’s hand ties up, then no one will win and the round will be called a “push”. If you have a hand composed of an ace and a Jack, then you get a blackjack and that’s definitely a plus to your part.

In order to be successful in blackjack, you need to plan an effective blackjack gambling strategy to defeat the dealer without busting. If you get bust, you will automatically lose the game; therefore, losing your chances of winning the pot.

 

Basically, the game of blackjack is present or played on a table. The table has 6 players playing with decks of cards, six to eight of them, that are shuffled together and placed in a card dispenser called a “shoe”. Prior to playing a round of blackjack, each player must make his first wager. Then the dealer deals the two cards to each player with the cards faced up. The dealer will also draw his cards; however, the dealer’s card is faced down. At this moment, the player will either stay or try to ask for additional cards so that he can get as close to 21 without busting. Players who do not bust are required to wait for the dealer to reveal his card. By rule, if the dealer has 17 or higher, then the dealer can stay. However, if the dealer has 16 or less, then he must draw his position from the game. If your hand is closer to 21 and higher than that of the dealer, then you win the game. If you get a blackjack (an Ace and a face card), you automatically win the game. With a blackjack, you can more than half your original bet. Make sure that the dealer’s hand is not a blackjack; otherwise, the game is tied up.

 

If the dealer’s first card upon dealing appears to be an ace, you have the prerogative to insure your hand and bet half your original bet. You can ensure to save your bet if the dealer’s hand is not close to 21. However, if the dealer’s hand hits a blackjack, then the house wins 2:1.

 

On the other hand, if you think that you don’t have the slightest bit of chance to win against the dealer or to recover from a lousy hand, then the best thing to do is to surrender. This is when you give up your hand and lose only half of your bet.
