The How To’s of Craps

Millions of people are already hooked in playing craps whether online or land based. Because of its simplicity, Craps has gathered quite a following ever since the game was invented. Over the years, craps has undergone quite a change. The layout was changed first and then new rules were added so no one can cheat on the game. This has greatly revolutionized the way craps was played and because of this, its popularity sky rocketed.
Benefit of Knowing the Basics

Learning how craps is played is simple enough to understand. First you need to learn the basics. At least 20 players can be accommodated in a craps table. The craps table has three parts. The first two are the ones located on both sides and the third is located in the middle. The two side areas are exactly alike while the middle area is shared by the two. Two dice are used in craps. A player is allowed only to use one hand when throwing the dice and when either one or both of the dice falls out of the table, the stickman inspects it first before returning them to the game. The dice are changed every 8 hours. A game of craps is composed of the players, dealers, shooter, stickman, and the boxman.

The first roll of the dice on a round of bet is called the Come Out Roll. This kind of roll happens when the first shooter fails to roll a winning toss which means he or she should roll a seven or an eleven. Each player gets their turn to become the shooter. A player can also decline to become the shooter where in the next player will be the one to roll the dice.

Different Betting Types

These are the basics of craps. The next thing that you should know is the different betting types. These are Pass and Don’t Pass Line bet, Come and Don’t Come bet, Place bets, Field bets, Odds bets, Proposition bets, Big Six and Big Eight. For beginners, you only need to learn which ones are good for you. The Pass Line bets, Odds bets, and Come bets are by far the best types of bets that you can use when playing craps. The reason is that the house edge for these bets is lower than the others.

In Pass Line bet the percent of the house edge is equal to 1.41%. Most players place their bets here since the chances of winning are higher. You win the bet when the shooter rolls a seven or an eleven. A point rolled will generate the bonus round where in the shooter should toss the same number first before a seven.

An Odds bet occurs during the Pass Line bet. When a point is rolled you can place an odd bet below your pass line bet. The house edge for an odds bet is zero which increases your winnings significantly. In a Come bet, it is almost the same as Pass Line bet. The difference is that you cannot use Come bet during the first toss of the dice but you can place your Come are while the shooter rolls the dice provided that a point is determined
