Craps for Beginners

The game of craps is quite fascinating due to the high adrenaline that seems to pass through each of the players every time someone tosses the dice. Screaming and shouting usually accompany the game of craps regardless of what casino you are in. People enjoy playing craps because of its simplicity as well as the odds of the game which is higher than other casino games. Not only that, but they also get to interact with other players to make it more interesting.

Playing Online Craps
The game of craps is also present in online casinos which make it more accessible to millions of players around the world. This is one of the reasons why craps has suddenly become popular once more after its decline in the 90s. Online craps use the same rules like when you are playing in land based casinos. The only difference is that you get to play craps in your own home which costs less than traveling to a casino near you. The game play is much the same and you also get to interact with other players.

Learning how to play craps is easy. First of all you need to learn the basics. In craps the table is somewhat big to better accommodate at least 20 players. The craps table is divided into three areas namely the two side areas and the area in the middle. The two side areas look the same while the middle spot is shared by the first two. Each side areas has different types of bets which includes Come and Don’t Come bets, Pass and Don’t Pass Line bets, Field bets, Place bets, Odd bets and Proposition bets. You might be daunted with the number of bets here but you only need to know the good bets which make things far easier for you.

The Bets
The good bets are simply these: Pass bets and the odds bets. Craps players often place their bets on the Pass line since the chances are good that you will roll good numbers here. For you to win, you need to roll a 7 or an 11. When you roll a 2 or a 3 you lose. You also need to toss another seven to win the game. When you roll a point, you need to roll the same number again before rolling a seven, otherwise you lose the round. This may be confusing at first but it is important that you bear this in mind.

The odds bet on the other hand, lowers the house edge in craps. The house edge when playing odds bet is zero. You can only place odds bet when you are in a pass line bet. When a Point is rolled, you place your odds bet below the pass line bet. In order to win the odds bet, you need to win the Pass Line bet first. You can wage larger in an Odds bet, but some casinos put a limit on it.

These two are the best bets that you can use when playing craps. The other types of bet are just there to confuse you. Better get used to betting first on the Pass Line and Odds bet before venturing further.
