Craps – Betting Types That You Should Know

Playing craps is easy once you get the hang of it. Craps has always been considered as one of the most exciting casino game that you can play today, not only in land based casinos but also online. It is a game filled with fun and excitement that pushes players to scream and shout especially when they are on a winning streak. The odds of winning in a craps game is bigger than the other casino games which makes it one of the most played game there is.

The Basics of Craps
Just like any other game that you haven’t learned, you begin with the basics when you want to play craps. This includes the layout of the table, how many players are allowed, the number of dice used in the game, and of course the betting types. Once you are familiar with all of these, you are off to a good start.

The Betting Types
The types of bets that you can use in a craps game are these: Pass and Don’t Pass Line bets, Odds bets, Come and Don’t Come bets, Field bets, Place bets, and Proposition bets. Let us take a closer look on these bets and see which ones are good for you.

The first type of bet which is the Pass Line bet is the basic betting option that you can use when you are playing for the first time. In a Pass Line bet, you need to roll a seven or an eleven to win. When you roll a two or a three you lose the round. In the event that you roll a Point which is any number from four to ten, you will be taken to the bonus round. In the bonus round, you need to roll the same number that you rolled first before rolling a seven to win. The house edge on a Pass Line bet is 1.41% which is still low. Don’t Pass Line bet is simply the opposite of Pass Line. This means that when you roll a two or a three you win, and you lose if you roll a seven or an eleven.

The Odds bet is interesting because it gives you more chances of increasing your money. You can use Odds bet when you are in a Pass Line bet. When a point is rolled, you can place an Odds bet below the Pass Line bet. You can bet higher in an Odds bet and with the house edge being zero, you can either double or triple your winnings.
The Come and Don’t Come bets are almost the same as the first two betting options with the difference that you cannot use them during the first roll. However as the game progresses you can place them while the shooter is rolling the dice. To determine if you won or not, follow the winning rules for the Pass and Don’t Pass Line bets.

The Proposition bet is located in the middle of the table. The house edge for this type of bet is higher than the other bets but when you win here, not only will your winnings double but it can also be quadrupled. However, this is very rare which is why professional craps players often avoid betting on this.
