The newest member of the gambling lobbying organization FairPlayUSA is Poker Hall of Famer and the reputed Ambassador of Poker Mike Sexton.
They don’t call Mike Sexton The Ambassador of Poker for nothing. He is the long-standing commentator for the World Poker Tour, the headlining poker pro at Party Poker, and a highly successful professional poker player in his own right, honored by induction into the Poker Hall of Fame. Now, Mike Sexton has a new badge to add to his collar: newest member of the advisory board of the esteemed gambling oversight organization FairPlayUSA.
FairPlayUSA informs US congress members and other policy makers as well as the general public about internet gambling laws and lobbies for a regulatory framework that allows for legal online poker in the US. By helping the public and lawmakers about the ambiguities inherent in current US gambling laws, the Washington, DC based FairPlayUSA pushes for clarification of those ambiguities so as to bring integrity and safety back to online poker in the United States.
Other notable members of the FairPlayUSA advisory board are Internet safety expert Perry Aftab, former Pennsylvania Governor and Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge and WSOP champion Greg Raymer.
In a poker career spanning more than 20 years, Mike Sexton has had 99 cashes, 9 first place finishes, earned 1 WSOP bracelet and made over $3 million in tournament winnings. Most recently he finished 2nd place in the 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or Better event at the 2011 World Series Of Poker.
