Poker Stars’ The Big Game is back on television for a second season, as of Monday, June 27th. Hosted by Scott Huff and Joe Stapledon, the Big Game features five big moneymakers in poker and the business world and one Loose Cannon, a PokerStars qualifier, in a cash game with a $100K buy-in.
On Monday, June 27, 2011, the televised poker show produced by online poker room Poker Stars returns to the airwaves for a second season. Appearing on PokerStars.tv every weekday, Monday through Friday, from now until August 5, 2011, The Big Game is hosted by Scott Huff and Joe Stapledon and features five of the most accomplished poker players and businessmen in the world compete in a high-stakes cash poker game with a buy-in of $100K and an ante of $100 and $200/$400 blinds. Each week a “Loose Cannon” joins the table. This is a player, usually an amateur, who qualified for the $100K position through an online poker qualifier tournament at Poker Stars.
At the end of each week, the Loose Cannon is allowed to keep any winnings they have in excess of the initial $100K stake Poker Stars put up for them in the game. At the end of the entire 6-week series, the Loose Cannon with the highest winnings is awarded an additional $50K prize package.
In Season 1 the winning Loose Cannon was Bobby “The Bus” Ferdinand who notched a $181,500 gain to push him just slightly ahead of runner-up David Fishman to claim the $50K grand prize, a Passport into the North American Poker Tour (NAPT).
