How to play Razz Poker

Razz is dealt in the same format as Seven Card Stud, but instead of trying to make a 5-card high hand, players attempt to make the lowest or you could say the worst 5-card hand achievable. Aces are always low and Straights and Flushes do not add up alongside you. The lowest achievable hand in Seven Card Razz is A2345, this is also known as the wheel.
Razz poker and stud tables are normally eight handed and the hand stars when the dealer deals the first card clockwise to the first player on the left and carries on in a clockwise direction. To start the action, 3 cards are dealt. The first 2 cards a player receives are faced down and the third and last card they receive is faced up
Once the first 3 cards have been dealt, the player with the bring-in starts the game. A bring-in is a required bet and is normally half the small bet, for example in a $2 game it would be $1. In Razz, the biggest card by suit starts the game with the bring-in. This is a difference between the game Razz and Stud because in Stud it is the low card by suit that has the bring-in were as in Razz it’s the biggest card by suit that has the bring-in.
Once the high card brings-in, then the first player to the left of him is able call, complete (if it hasn’t been complete already), raise or fold his hand. The game continues to the left with each player acting on his/her hand. Once all players have had an option to act on their hand, the fourth card is then dealt to the players who haven’t folded. This next round is called “Fourth Street” and is more or less the same to the previous round (“Third Street”). The only difference is that there is no bring-in and the low hand is the first person to act. Hardly ever two players have the same low hand, but if they are tied, the first player that is clockwise from the dealer starts the game. Fifth and Sixth street is dealt in the same method as third and fourth, but the amount bet is the higher limit. The game concludes with the dealer dealing the seventh and final card to each and every player that remains in the hand. This card is dealt face down. Once more, the player with the lowest hand showing is first to act and the game progresses until all players have acted on their hands.
When all the betting has finished, the person that completed the last bet/raise will be the first person to show their cards. The person to the left of him either shows his cards or folds. The person with the greatest five cards low hand is confirmed the winner and all chips are given and pushed in his/her way.
If you are looking to round out your understanding of the largely well-liked games, particularly if you have intentions of joining the “HORSE” craze, understanding and adding Razz to your poker playing collection is a must do thing. Playing a game still in its “online childhood”, most Razz practitioners in common still have a lot to learn, so join in the fun while the getting is good!
