Determining the Right Betting Strategy in Baccarat

Baccarat is one of the easiest games that you can play in any casino around the world. There are also several variants of the game which come from different countries such as France, Argentina, Cuba and the British Isles. These are Baccarat en Banque, Punto Banco, Chemin de Fer, and mini Baccarat. These variants have their own set of rules but their main objective is the same and that is to make a hand that is equivalent to nine or a value closer to nine. The betting system is also the same with the other variants where in you get to place your bets on either the banker’s hand, your hand, or a tie hand.

The Basics
When you are playing Baccarat, you are playing with other players as well as the house. The table used when playing Baccarat is somewhat semi-circular. But when it comes to size, it differs for each variant. For example, in Punto Banco, an oval shaped table is used where 14 players can be seated while in Baccarat en Banque the table can seat up to 10 people. In mini baccarat on the other hand, only seven players can be seated in the table.

Baccarat variants can differ with the number of decks used, the rules of the game, the role of the banker and so on but two rules remain the same. The first rule is the value of each of the cards in the game. The ace is equal to 1 while the cards 2 to 9 have the same face value. Ten, Jack, Queen and King have a value equal to zero.  The other rule that is similar to all variants of Baccarat is the point system. Since the goal of the game is to make a hand that is equal to nine, when your hand reaches ten and above the first number is dropped. Let us say that your hand is composed of a nine and a five. The total of these two cards is 14. Since it is already more than ten, we drop the first number which is the one, so the end result will be 4. The natural hand is achieved when your two cards is equal to a nine or an eight.

When it comes to playing Baccarat, the number of cards per hand is two. Depending on the variant that you are playing there are rules when it comes to giving the third card. In Chemin de Fer, the players are allowed to choose when to draw a third card while in mini Baccarat and Punto Banco it is already fixed. Baccarat en Banque on the other hand is played with three cards, two cards for the players hand and one for the banker’s hand.

Betting Options
Baccarat variants also have differences when it comes to betting. In Baccarat en Banque, you can only bet on your hand while in Punto Banco you can place your bet on either the player’s hand or the banker’s hand.

These are only some of the things that can help you become a winner in Baccarat. It is important for any player to learn the rules first before beginning a game. This way, you can already generate a baccarat gambling strategy on your own.
