BCS Championship Series Match-Ups Announced
Last Sunday night, December 5, it was announced which two teams would face off in Arizona in the January 10th, 2011 BCS Championship game of NCAA college football. Unsurprisingly, the teams in this latest Bowl Championship Series title game are the Oregon Ducks (ranked #2) and the Auburn Tigers (ranked #1).
Just a day prior, both teams won their respective rights to the slots, with the Tigers defeating the South Carolina Gamecocks to claim the Southeastern Conference Championship, and the Ducks defeating their celebrated “civil war” rivals, the Oregon State Beavers in the Pac-10 Conference.
The BCS Championship is not the only big bowl game to watch and place your bets on this January. There are also four other BCS Bowl Games:
- the Sugar Bowl, where at-large committee selections the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Ohio State Buckeyes will meet
- the Fiesta Bowl, where the Big XII champs, the Oklahoma Sooners, will square off with Big East champ, the Connecticut Huskies
- the Rose Bowl, where the Mountain West’s TCU Horned Frogs will battle Big Ten champ, the Wisconsin Badgers.
- the Orange Bowl, where ACC champ, the Virginia Tech Hokies will take on BCS at-large selection, the Stanford Cardinal.
That leaves plenty of big
sportsbetting opportunities for NCAA college football fans at the turn of the year. As for the big game, the
BCS Championship, if history is any indicator the tide rolls heavily in favor of Auburn, since half the BCS Championships have been won by Southeastern Conference teams, including the past four, back to the Florida Gators in ’06.
