LAG HORSE Strategy

In HORSE it is a bit easier to be a loose aggressive player. The games are always changing and the hands are always changing as well. Players tend to get caught up in the changes that are going on in the game a bit more than table image so you can get away with being a bully a lot more. As long as you know how to take your time and ease into this position on the table you should be stealing tons of pots with your new LAG HORSE strategy. A lot of players aren’t completely confident with their HORSE poker skills but have been playing the game a lot lately anyways. With a nice fine tuned HORSE poker strategy you will be ready to start stacking these HORSE DONKS like fish!

1. Start Out Tight – This is purely to build a tight table image. The less hands you play here the better it is for your table image. You want players to make a note of you that you are a rock type of player. You still want to play your good hands of course because they have really strong value. No one is really paying attention to you or messing with you at all. After you get to this point you should start to open up a little bit. Every couple hands throw in an extra steal attempt. This is a great way to take advantage of this image that we have just created.

2. Steal Away – Once you start to open up your range you need to keep stealing from your opponents until you have them to the point that they are just barely starting to oppose you. As soon as they start to oppose you get back into your tight image. At no point do you really want the player to think that you aren’t a rock tight player. You will be changing into this temporary steal crazy mode time and time again.

3. Test Your Opponents – You need to see how long your opponents will let you steal from them so that you can push this to that point every time. You then need to try to squeeze a little more out of your opponent as well. Always test your opponents and see just how much they are willing to pay in most common situations. You always want to bet the max that they will pay with your good hands.

4. Be Aggressive – The most important factor in being a LAG HORSE player is to make sure that you are constantly applying pressure to your opponents. As long as you are keeping the heat up they will never have a chance to get comfortable against you. When your opponents are uncomfortable you can force them to make mistakes. When they are playing a game they might not be comfortable with anyways and you’re applying pressure they are even more likely to make mistakes.
