The $50K Points Race at Doyle’s Room Poker for October, 2011 has begun.

With the start of another new month–that being October of 2011–another Doyle’s Room Poker $50,000 Point Race has begun. All you have to do to participate in this contest and work toward a share of that $50,000 guaranteed prize pool is play online poker at Doyle’s Room like you already do. As you play, you’ll earn points. The more points you earn, the better your performance in the race.

Player performance in the $50K Points Race is charted on a leaderboard. And for this leaderboard the Doyle’s Room gang has gotten a little creative. To certain tournaments at the site, they have added special bonus leaderboard points. Play in these tournaments and excel farther up the $50,000 Points Race leaderboard too.

For example, any satellite tournament for the Punta Cana Poker event in the Dominican Republic has 25 bonus points associated with it. That is, all but the Tri-weekly Main Event awarding at least one Punta Cana prize package guaranteed, which offers 500 bonus points. That and the October 23 10-seat satellite, which awards 2,000 points.

The $3.5 Nightly Tournament offers 50 points. That Saturday $7.5K guarantee awards 100 points and the Sunday $15K guarantee offers 100 points.

However you earn your points, prizes of $7,500 for first place, $3,500 for second place and $2,250 for third place should provide ample incentive to rake in those points. This contest pays out to the top 250 finishers with cash prizes of at least $50.
