This week, NBC television premiere’s the return of its cash game poker TV show, Poker After Dark, starting with a two-week stint in which 6 of poker’s top players will compete with $300/$600 blinds and a minimum $150K buy-in.

Poker After Dark returns to the NBC this. Unlike most of the other poker television broadcasts, Poker After Dark is a cash game, with six pro players competing not for a tournament prize pool but for each other’s own hard-won money over the next two weeks.

The minimum buy-in to get in on this high roller action is $150,000 and blinds are $300/$600 with an ante of $100.

The six players you’ll watch duking it out on NBC TV’s latest installment of Poker After Dark are:

  • Olivier Busquet (aka livb123)

  • Eli Elezra

  • Phil Laak (aka The Unabomber)

  • Howard Lederer (aka The Professor)

  • Greg Mueller (aka FBT)

  • David Peat (aka Viffer)

Two of the names on that list – David Peat and Eli Elezra – are old hat at Poker After Dark cash games, both having competed on the show five times before. Phil Laak has also appeared on the show three times so far, and Howard Lederer twice.

Every player in this game comes with a list of professional poker accomplishments that would intimidate anyone not equally credentialed. The first show is on Monday, February 7 and 2:05 am and will be rebroadcast in that time slot each day thereafter for 5 days, leading up to a special Director’s Cut episode full of interviews, analysis and other behind the scenes highlights on Saturday after SNL. You can also watch Poker After Dark online on NBC Sport’s MSNBC website.
