As of last Monday, May 23, 2011, 10 more online gambling domains have been seized by the Department of Justice, including Bookmaker.com and DoylesRoom.com.

Black Friday no longer stands alone as they day online gambling took a beating from the United States government. Last Monday, May 23, 2011, the US DOJ (Department of Justice) charged three more individuals in association with two different online gambling enterprises for illegally operating within the US, closing down 10 sites between them. And unlike Black Friday, April 15, 2011, the last time something like this happened, it wasn’t just poker sites affected. It was also online casinos and online sports betting sites as well.

Bookmaker.com, for example, was one of the sites seized, and Bookmaker runs all three kinds of gambling operations under one roof: online poker, online casino and online sports betting.

We’ve also been hearing a lot of buzz out of Doyles Room Poker as the celebrity behind the eponymous site split from it recently when its operators refused to pull out of the United States. He saw this coming, and come it did. Only question for Mr. Brunson is: did he cut those ties fast enough?

As with Black Friday, US players with accounts at these 10 affected sites will find themselves locked out of the sites and locked out from withdrawing their funds. Chances are they will see their funds again, but only after a bunch of legal bureaucracy happens first. So sit tight, most PokerStars players got their money back and Full Tilt Poker players are soon to follow suit.
